Craig Calcaterra NBC Sports reports that the Dodgers agree on much too short Rafael Furcal St. Louis market. The only thing is, according Calcaterra, Furcal for a no-trade clause to give up. Buster Olney both ESPN and Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reported that agreement was near. Derrick Goold St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported that Furcal would be against a trade to St. Louis.
First, it is surprising that Furcal commercial value whatsoever. He spent two long periods on the disabled list this season, once with a broken thumb and one with oblique strain. Furcal missed 292 games the Dodgers last '603 go to the end of 2007. Again, I always hope and the thought of healthy Furcal makes a difference on the board and on the ground. Of course, the warning is rarely healthy Furcal.
During his last six games, Furcal 8-for-22, hit .364/.500/.500 with three doubles, two stolen bases and walking three in three attempts. St. Louis was similar enough to show that Furcal was healthy enough to make a difference in the final straight to finish it.
